Ascension Clinic offers CoolPeel CO2 laser treatment in New Farm using the Tetra PRO system by DEKA. Using the latest generation in laser technology, CoolPeel delivers controlled fractional energy for lighter resurfacing.
Treatment of the entire face is completed in a shorter session and requires only topical numbing. Your clinician will outline the expected recovery period during your consultation. Treatment frequency is based on individual assessment, with most patients requiring anywhere from three to six treatment sessions.

About the treatment
What is CoolPeel?
This procedure uses fractional CO₂ energy delivered in short, controlled pulses to treat the upper layer of the skin. The energy stays shallow, creating a pattern of fine micro-columns without affecting deeper structures. CoolPeel suits patients who want a lighter CO₂ option, especially in environments with long-term sun exposure.
CoolPeel CO2 Laser Brisbane works on the surface layer only. It focuses on overall skin quality at a shallow depth rather than targeting deeper concerns or medical skin conditions.
How does CoolPeel Laser work?
CoolPeel uses a short-pulse CO₂ setting that places controlled micro-columns across the surface of the skin. Each pulse delivers a quick burst of heat to the upper layer. The pulse is so fast that the skin cools almost immediately after, which keeps the heat from spreading deeper.
This pattern of shallow micro-columns starts a natural surface repair response without the depth of a traditional CO₂ session. The deeper layers remain largely unaffected, which is why CoolPeel sits in the lighter resurfacing category.
Your clinician adjusts the settings based on your skin and medical history. The goal is controlled surface treatment with limited thermal spread.
What is the downtime?
CoolPeel is a lighter CO₂ resurfacing option, so the recovery period is shorter than a full CO₂ session. Your skin can look red after treatment, and you may notice some dryness or roughness as the surface settles.
As the skin settles, you may see fine flaking as new, healthier skin appears. Many patients comfortably resume daily activities within 24–48 hours. Your aftercare routine plays an important role, and your clinician will provide clear instructions to follow during the first few days.
The CoolPeel CO2 Laser procedure
Patients will be welcomed to the clinic and have topical numbing gel applied to the treatment area. The CoolPeel treatment will be provided under the guidance of Dr. Allison, a Cosmetic Physician with extensive experience in CO₂ laser treatments. After the session, a post-procedure mask will be applied to the skin, and an aftercare pack will be provided with detailed instructions. Patients can usually leave the clinic on their own, unless otherwise advised by their clinician. The time spent in the clinic will be around 1 hour, and the procedure itself is typically shorter than a full CO2 session.
