Thread Lifts Brisbane

Thread lifts are a minimal-downtime procedure to address skin laxity in the lower face. It can also be used to lift and tighten loose skin on the neck that can occur over time. We will often combine this with other energy and laser treatments to further augment this result.

Our experience in minimally invasive treatments

At Ascension, we focus on minimally invasive treatments, offering our patients methods to achieve satisfactory results without the need for surgery.

Thread lifts must be performed by highly trained staff, with a thorough understanding of facial anatomy and the proper use of the dissolvable threads. Dr. Scott Allison performs minimally invasive treatments, personally mentoring all Ascension staff to support a high standard of care.

Attending conferences domestically and internationally, Dr. Scott Allison continues to refine his techniques, providing his patients with advanced treatment options.

Benefits of Thread Lifts

What to expect

With thread lifts, you’ll see a difference soon after treatment. During the treatment, we’ll place dissolvable threads in key places under your skin. They are then gently pulled upwards to lift the treated area. As the threads dissolve, they encourage new collagen production in the treated area. This fresh collagen may support volume in the treated area, with results that vary between individuals.

Minimal Downtime

Gone are the days of needing weeks off work for a facelift. After a thread lift, you can return to work the same day. It only takes about 30 minutes, but you’ll likely be at the clinic for up to two hours to allow for pre and post-treatment consults. There may be some degree of swelling and bruising, but it will dissipate over the coming days.

Suitable candidates for the treatment

Suitable thread lift candidates will want to address mild to moderate skin laxity in the midface or jowl area. Patients are commonly aged between 40 to 65, but your suitability for treatment will ultimately depend on the level of skin laxity or sagging you want to treat.

Thread lifts may be a suitable alternative to a surgical facelift and may be ideal for those who are not suitable for surgery. Suitable candidates should be non-smokers, as smoking can impair the body’s ability to produce more collagen.

Some contraindications to the treatment can include allergies to the dissolvable threads, active infections or acne in the treatment area, and those with more extreme skin laxity that may not be sufficiently treated with a thread lift. You will discuss your suitability for the treatment during a consultation, discussing your health history and desired results.

Pricing

Pricing for thread lifts varies based on individual needs, as the required dosages differ.

What is the procedure Like?

Once you’ve been welcomed to the clinic, your clinical pre-photos are taken and we then plan the procedure. This is important as it determines the direction of lift that is achieved. The area to be treated is numbed with topical anaesthetic. Once everything is prepared the Thread Lift is performed, generally only taking about 30 minutes (however expect to be at the clinic for up to 2 hours). After the procedure incision sites are dressed and follow-up is arranged.

Recovery

The degree of swelling and bruising differs between patients. In most it is only mild and many patients will return to work the next day. However complete resolution of swelling and bruising will take 2-4 weeks.
