Benefits of HydraFacial

Exfoliates dead skin layers

HydraFacial begins by cleansing and exfoliating the skin, using ingredients that effectively remove dead skin layers. Exfoliating the skin can reduce the appearance of dry patches and signs of ageing, as well as allow for hydrating skincare ingredients to better nourish the skin.

Extracts impurities with a gentle vacuum handpiece

The second step of HydraFacial involves a vacuum handpiece to gently suction out impurities, cleaning congested pores.

Hydrates and nourishes the skin

Specially formulated serums are applied to deeply nourish and hydrate, with better absorption thanks to the exfoliating and cleansing process.

HydraFacial Treatments

Signature HydraFacial – 30 Minutes
A Signature HydraFacial involves a three-step facial regimen to cleanse, exfoliate and infuse. The HydraFacial device uses a vortex water flow to deeply cleanse impurities from the pores while exfoliating and infusing the skin with nourishing ingredients.

Deluxe HydraFacial – 40 Minutes
A Deluxe HydraFacial adds a personalised booster to your facial, formulated to treat your individual skin concerns, and ends with LED Light Therapy to reduce skin pigmentation and common signs of ageing. LED Light Therapy has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, which can help to treat acne and reduce redness.

Ultimate HydraFacial – 60 Minutes
Enhancing your treatment experience, the Ultimate HydraFacial includes the exfoliating, cleansing and hydrating benefits with an added personalised booster and the collagen-boosting benefits of Laser Genesis. Laser Genesis also helps treat acne, pigmentation and reduce redness.

Pricing

At Ascension, we offer three different HydraFacial treatments - the Signature HydraFacial, Deluxe HydraFacial and Ultimate HydraFacial. Prices start at $380.

Suitable candidates for HydraFacial

Suitable candidates for HydraFacial are those who want to exfoliate, cleanse and hydrate congested and dry skin. Candidates should have realistic expectations and be willing to follow aftercare instructions to protect their skin after treatment.

While HydraFacial can be suitable for all skin types, some candidates may not be suitable for the treatment. Those who are allergic to certain ingredients, are undergoing acne treatment, have active skin conditions in the treated area or have sunburn in the treated area may not be suitable for treatment. If you have had another treatment on the area, such as cosmetic injectables, IPL or laser, within the previous one to two weeks, you may need to wait for a recommended period of time before undergoing treatment with HydraFacial. You will be able to discuss your suitability for treatment during your consultation.

Aftercare

After your treatment, your skin may feel warm or appear flushed, due to the cleansing and exfoliating process. This is normal and should subside within a few hours after treatment.

To care for your skin, you will receive personalised instructions based on the ingredients used during your treatment. Your aftercare steps can also be influenced by the type of HydraFacial treatment you chose and whether or not you had the personalised booster, LED Light Therapy or Laser Genesis.

Generally, you should stay hydrated after your facial and avoid sun exposure. Since your skin has been thoroughly exfoliated, you should avoid using exfoliating products for at least three days after the treatment. Although you should avoid sun exposure, we recommend applying SPF 50+ to ensure you are protecting your skin sufficiently. You should avoid excessive heat, such as saunas, and strenuous exercise for 48 hours after your treatment.

To prevent complications such as infection, you should gently wash your face daily and regularly apply a light moisturiser. We can recommend some products available at our clinic during your consultation and provide you with personalised skincare advice.

Possible side effects

HydraFacial is non-invasive and associated with minimal side effects. Apart from mild and temporary redness, flaking and a sensation of warmth, the treatment doesn’t involve downtime. However, since the skin has been exfoliated, you will need to follow your aftercare instructions to reduce further complications. These can include irritation, rashes or a flare-up of skin conditions. Rarely, patients may have an allergic reaction to the ingredients used. We’ll thoroughly assess your suitability for HydraFacial to avoid aggravating any present skin conditions or causing allergic reactions. We can personalise the ingredients used, tailored to your skin type.
