Our exceptional experience with treating collagen loss
Genetics, lifestyle and environmental factors can all accelerate collagen loss, with the rate of depletion differing between men and women. Women tend to experience faster loss, particularly after menopause, requiring different approaches to effectively restore collagen and maintain youthful skin.
Sharing his techniques and results with other Doctors and Nurses, Dr. Scott Allison attends domestic and international conferences, passionate about achieving exceptional results. Our team at Ascension are trained by Dr. Allison, using effective, patient-tailored techniques to maintain a high level of care.
“Collagen stimulating options are essential for patients of all ages. In younger patients, it’s about prevention and slowing the rate of collagen loss to come, whereas in older patients, it is about reversing some of the collagen loss that has already occurred.” – Dr. Scott Allison.

Areas of concern /
Multiple factors can contribute to the development of collagen loss, and it is crucial for your Practitioner to thoroughly evaluate underlying causes to determine the most suitable treatment for you. During your consultation, we work with you to understand your facial anatomy and unique aesthetic needs and goals. A personalised treatment plan will then be developed to address collagen loss concerns.
Hydrate and Moisturise
Restoring collagen can hydrate the skin by deeply replenishing the dermis and superficial layers from the inside out.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Treatments that increase collagen and elastic production, can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Skin Laxity
Collagen tightens the skin in targeted areas across the face and body.
Enhancing your body’s ability to produce and maintain collagen can result in these noticeable improvements, particularly in the following areas:
- Face
- Neck
- Décolletage
- Knees and Elbows
- Hands
- Stomach
Your Consultation at our Brisbane Clinic
During your initial consultation, various aspects will be discussed to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the procedure and your specific needs. The consultation allows us to discuss expectations openly and create a treatment plan you can approve.
Firstly, your cosmetic concerns and treatment goals will be discussed. We will listen attentively to gain insight into what you hope to achieve through treating your under-eye concerns. This discussion allows us to explain what can be realistically achieved.
Next, we will thoroughly examine your facial features, asking about the areas of your face where you have concerns regarding darkness and hollowing. We will carefully evaluate your facial anatomy, taking note of bone structure, fat pads and skin laxity. This assessment helps us to determine the appropriate treatment plan required. We may also inquire about any allergies or previous cosmetic treatments. This information is crucial for determining your eligibility for the procedure.
The consultation will also involve a discussion about the procedure itself, including the recommended treatments, the expected duration of the results, and any potential risks or side effects. We can explain the technique involved, ensuring you understand the process and know what to expect during and after the treatment.
Finally, the financial aspect will be discussed. We will provide information about the cost of the treatment, any potential additional expenses, and the expected longevity of the results. We can also discuss the option of follow-up treatments and maintenance. Your treatment costs will depend on the personalised details of your procedure, so it is best to wait until having your consultation before making calculations.
Clinical PathwaysAnd Recommendations
Recommended treatments
At Ascension, we provide comprehensive cosmetic consultations, where your comfort, aesthetic preferences, facial anatomy and skin health are all considered to provide an ideal treatment plan tailored to your needs. You may benefit from a combination approach utilising different treatment methods and a number of sessions, which we will discuss during your consultation.
Rejuran
Rejuran is a revolutionary bio-regenerative treatment that uses Polynucleotides (PN) to stimulate collagen producing cells that address the root causes of ageing. This treatment relies on your natural potential for youthful radiance by boosting skin hydration, treating fine lines, wrinkles, pores and textural changes, which all contribute to the minimising of dark circles and shadows.
Recovery time after Rejuran is minimal, with effects lasting only 1-2 days. Patients may see results soon after the treatment, but the deeper effects will occur over the following months while your skin repairs itself naturally.
CO2 Laser
The gold standard in skin rejuvenation, the CO2 Laser uses laser energy to transform light into heat, coagulating tissue and causing formation of fresh new collagen and elastin. The overall result is profound skin regeneration after just one treatment.
Although downtime is slightly greater, it gives superior results to non-ablative lasers and microneedling. CO2 laser skin resurfacing addresses deep lines formed by scars, wrinkling, elastosis (a loss of elasticity) and uneven textural changes in the skin as we age.
Morpheus 8 RF Needling
Morpheus8 RF Needling combines radio-frequency (RF) technology with microneedling, stimulating the body’s healing response to increase collagen and elastin production.
Multiple treatment sessions of Morpheus8 can work best to improve collagen loss. Downtime is minimal, with some redness and discomfort that should subside shortly after your treatment session. Your results will appear over time, as the skin produces more collagen and elastin.
Ultraformer MPT HIFU
Using the latest in high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology, the Ultraformer MPT contributes to facial lifting, skin tightening and facial contouring. It’s a versatile non-invasive procedure using ultrasound waves to stimulate the production of collagen to tighten the skin.
Depending on the amount of collagen loss and skin laxity in the target areas, 2 – 3 sessions of Ultraformer MPT are usually recommended to contour the face. Results can continue to be seen up to six months after the treatment, however you may benefit from maintenance sessions as time goes on.
Skin Needling
Microneedling, also known as Skin Needling, creates multiple tiny punctures in the treated area, which prompts the body’s natural healing response. The healing response caused by the tiny punctures will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which can reduce the appearance of collagen loss.
With minor discomfort and minimal downtime, patients can benefit from multiple treatment sessions that are sufficiently spaced apart to allow enough healing time between sessions. This treatment is commonly combined with Exosome therapy to reduce inflammation, speed up healing and reverse the signs of ageing.
