Dr Steven Klupfel is a specialist anaesthetist with experience across general and paediatric anaesthesia. Dr Klupfel holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Science (BSc), and Master of Medicine (MMed). He is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA), which represents his specialist registration in Anaesthesia.

Dr Klupfel trained in Brisbane and has practised across Southeast Queensland, including as a junior doctor and through advanced anaesthetic training. He completed an anaesthetic fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with a focus on major abdominal surgery, and has additional training in paediatric anaesthesia at Queensland Children’s Hospital. His clinical interests include perioperative medicine, quality and safety, and echocardiography. He currently holds a Staff Specialist position at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and provides anaesthetic support for procedures involving twilight sedation at Ascension.
