Wrinkles

Over time, fine lines and wrinkles can begin to show in various areas of the body, particularly the face, neck and hands. Fine lines and wrinkles are generally caused by a depletion of collagen and elastin production, leading to skin laxity. Collagen and elastin production can decrease with the natural ageing process and factors such as excessive sun exposure, smoking habits, genetics and environmental factors.

Wrinkles can be treated with a variety of different methods, including micro-needling, laser, and heat-based treatments, and a combination of methods for a comprehensive approach, such as one of our bespoke Signature Treatments.

Recommended Treatments

During a consultation at Ascension, we can recommend the most effective treatment method according to your personal needs and preferences.

You may benefit from a combination approach using multiple methods or from a single treatment method performed with the right number of sessions. You’ll receive a personalised treatment plan outlining the tailored details of your chosen treatment.

01  / Morpheus8 RF Needling

Morpheus8 RF Needling combines radio-frequency (RF) technology with microneedling, stimulating the body’s healing response to increase collagen and elastin production. More collagen and elastin can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, as well as skin laxity.

Multiple treatment sessions of Morpheus8 can work best to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Downtime is minimal, with some redness and discomfort that should subside shortly after your treatment session. Your results will appear over time, as the skin produces more collagen and elastin.

02  /Co2 Laser

Causing ablation and coagulation at precisely targeted levels within the skin, the Co2 laser can resurface the skin, treating wrinkles and deep lines. The Co2 laser turns light energy into heat, which coagulates the targeted tissue.

Some patients may need multiple treatments, but just one treatment session may achieve noticeable results. Downtime is minor but can take about five to seven days, with minor discomfort and redness. The treatment results can continue to become noticeable for up to one year after the treatment.

03  / Dermapen Microneedling

Dermapen Microneedling creates multiple tiny punctures in the treated area, which prompts the body’s natural healing response. The healing response caused by the tiny punctures will stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

With minor discomfort, downtime is quite minimal after a Dermapen Microneedling treatment. Some patients can benefit from multiple treatment sessions that are sufficiently spaced apart to allow enough healing time between sessions.

04  / Tixel Skin Tightening

Tightening the skin can improve the appearance of wrinkles that are caused by skin laxity. Using pure radiated heat to trigger the body’s healing response, Tixel Skin Tightening delivers heat in a fast and precise method for about one millisecond at a time.

Tixel is associated with minimal downtime, with patients experiencing redness and heat for a few hours and swelling that will subside within a few days. It’s normal for some flaky and dry skin to be noticeable for around seven to 10 days, but this will subside as the skin heals.

05  / Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis works by generating heat in the skin with advanced laser technology, stimulating collagen production. The increased production of collagen can help to significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over time.

A series of about six treatments can be best to achieve noticeable results, but this will depend on your personal needs and preferences. Downtime can involve minor redness, which should subside within just a few hours after your treatment session.

06  /The Ascension Lift

For comprehensive treatment options, Dr Scott Allison has put together some customisable Signature Treatments, including The Ascension Lift, The Ascension Rejuvenate, The Ascension Replenish, The Ascension Event Prep, and more.

Specifically designed to address skin laxity, which can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, The Ascension Lift helps to increase collagen and elastin production. The treatment package includes sessions with Morpheus8, Tixel Skin Tightening and Healite II in an 80-minute treatment. Tixel is used to focus on the delicate eye area, specifically targeting fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

07  / The Ascension Rejuvenate

To effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles, The Ascension Rejuvenate combines Tixel Skin Tightening, Laser Genesis and a skin-smoothing hydration mask in a 60-minute treatment.

The combination of laser and heat-based treatment methods will boost collagen and elastin production, while the hydration mask to finish up the treatment can help soothe the skin. The Ascension Rejuvenate can treat the face, neck and décolletage.

08  / The Ascension Replenish

The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles can become more significant when the skin is dehydrated, dry and flaky. Boosting the hydration of the skin can help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as have a variety of benefits for the overall appearance of your skin.

The Ascension Replenish includes a Hyaluronic Acid Infusion combined with skin needling, a hydration mask and Healite II. The skin needling helps to enhance the absorption of the Hyaluronic Acid Infusion before Healite II can reduce inflammation and redness. The treatment takes about 50 minutes and is associated with minimal downtime.

09  / The Ascension Event Prep

Although The Ascension Event Prep was designed for candidates who want to improve their skin before a special event, the comprehensive package can be suitable for those who want to combine different methods to treat fine lines and wrinkles.

The treatment package includes Laser Genesis, a lactic peel and Healite II in a 60-minute session. After laser works to boost collagen and elastin production, the lactic peel exfoliates the skin, which can help to remove dead skin cells. Healite II can help reduce the treatment downtime, reducing inflammation and redness.
